We set up Gaby's pack and play, bouncy seat and swing yesterday and Fiona (our cat for those of you who haven't met her) is very curious about all of the new contraptions in the apartment. It should be interesting to see how she reacts to the baby when she arrives!
Gabrielle's discharge isn't the only good news. Alaina is doing really well. She's up to 6 pounds now and is back to her usual feisty self. (Warning: too much information ahead...) She's started passing gas and small stools which normally wouldn't be cause for celebration but for a baby who's had major intestinal surgery, it's a major achievement. The doctors plan to start feeding her this week so that will be her next major challenge. Judging by the strength she's shown so far, we're really hopeful that she'll tackle it like she has everything else.

After all this time, Gaby is coming home! What wonderful, wonderful, wonderful news!!!! She looks so cute (and a bit stunned) in her car seat...at least her first ride won't take too long. And, way to go, Alaina! I've never been so happy to read about someone's gas! Enjoy every second of these new developments. See you on Christmas day...love and hugs to everyone!
Yipeeeeeee!! Gaby looks like a pro. I hope mommy and daddy get some sleep tonight, I'm sure the excitement is overwhelming and we're just so happy for you guys. I can't wait to hear Alaina pass gas! It'll be music to my ears!! I am so happy her surgery went well and she'll be home before you guys know it! As for Gabrielle, she is just so laid back and mellow! I really can't wait until the entire family gets together. They are the best presents you could have given us!

Woohoo!! HUGE news on both fronts. And yes, being a parent suddenly means being interested in poop, gas, spit up and all that great stuff.
