Gabrielle & Alaina are 1 week old!
Yesterday was the girls' one week birthday and they had a wonderful day. Alaina kept her milk down for the first time and we got to turn off her phototherapy lights for a bit and see her little eyes open. Gabrielle had her first taste of tummy time in her Isolette and spent the day sucking on her purple pacifier. It's so funny to see them developing their own personalities even at this young age. Alaina is the dramatic one, which shouldn't really surprise us considering she spent so much time kicking her sister in the head while they were in the womb. She cries whenever her diaper is dirty and once it's changed, immediately poops or pees and cries for it to be changed again. Meanwhile, Gaby is totally chill and happy to kick back and relax. Both girls are doing so well that it's hard to believe that just a week ago we had no idea what would happen. They're not out of the woods yet but each day that they do this well is a blessing.

I already told you I loved the names and now I loved seeing the pictures and reading the stories :)
They are so small and precious!! I can't wait to get a close up of their little faces to see how much they look like Jan!. It's funny, but little girls always look like daddy!...and those will have Jan wrapped around their little fingers...hey, one already did! (that picture got me all happy, emotional and teary eyed!).
I'll give you a call this week. Hugs to the four of you and tons of prayers so they can be home for their first Thanksgiving!!

Congratulations!!! What a surprise- both ladies seem to have a lot of spunk and determination like their mom, so no doubt they will be home in your arms soon! We will be keeping the girls in our prayers and can't wait to see more pictures! Trish & John
Thanks so much for sharing the news - we've had you in our thoughts ever since Philippa let us know! They are obviously strong little women - wonder where they got that?? I can tell you are already enjoying every little step in their development - it is truly miraculous!!!!!!
