The girls had their 16 month check up last week and despite the highly traumatic blood draw and vaccinations, there was good news all around. They're both on the charts for their actual ages! Gabrielle is 19 pounds, 8 ounces (5th percentile), 28 3/4 inches long (3-5th percentile) and her head measures 45 1/2 centimeters (25th-50th percentile). Alaina is 21 pounds, 12 ounces (25th percentile), 30 inches long (25th percentile) and her head is 45 centimeters (10-25th percentile). Alaina weighing two pounds more than her sister wasn't that much of a surprise (although we have to wonder just how big she'd be if she still had all of her intestines....), but the fact that she's taller than Gabrielle and that Gaby's head is larger than Alaina's totally shocked us. We think there may have been a measuring error.
In other news, the girls are starting to play together and it's always entertaining. Gabrielle crawls all over Alaina but if Alaina even leans on Gaby, all hell breaks loose. They especially love this play house my parents got them for Christmas and so do we since they can each play with their own side.
Too bad that more often that not, they're duking it out over who gets to ring the doorbell or open the mailbox!
In other doctor news, Fiona also had a check up last week. She's now 9 pounds, 4 ounces. For some odd reason, the vet doesn't give percentiles.

Just love seeing the girls via "blog", but seeing them in person last Sunday was THE BEST!!!!!! You two, too, BTW!
