So much has happened since April 2nd that it will take me a few more posts to catch up on everything so I'll start with the latest and work my way backward. Gabrielle and Alaina are 9 months old now and getting bigger everyday! At their doctor's appointment two weeks ago, Gabrielle weighed 15 pounds 1 ounce and was 26.5 inches long. Alaina was 15 pounds 6 ounces and 26.25 inches long. Yes, you read that right -- little Laineypants weighs more than her sister! We never would have guessed seven months ago when the doctors told us she might not ever eat like a "normal" baby that we'd see this day. The girls started eating solids back in May and Alaina devours pretty much anything you put in front of her - bananas, pears, peaches, carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, even green beans - while Gaby likes her food but doesn't shovel it in like her sister. The one thing they won't touch? Peas. For those of you who know me and Jan and our aversion to peas, you're probably laughing right now. They are truly our children.
Not only are they gaining weight well, but they're now on the charts for their actual age, which is fantastic. They're also starting to meet a lot of their milestones. They're rolling over really well and just started sitting up (although they can't manage to stay up too long before tipping over just yet!) . Here's a peek at their newest skill:
